Bluelaces Theater Company creates welcoming environments specifically designed for audiences with autism and other developmental differences. We encourage sensory and social play through immersive, multi-sensory experiences that challenge theatrical convention. Bluelaces' programming provides individualized attention (through our unique “Adventure Guide” model) and interactive, flexible participation. Our seasons feature original staged performances, drama workshops and summer camp, and multi-media endeavors. Bluelaces’ audience members and their caregivers experience art in a way that allows them to express their authentic selves in a celebratory, nonjudgmental, safe space. Our programming is both artistically and economically accessible, featuring a donation-based payment model. Bluelaces strives to improve the lives of our audiences, their families/caregivers, and the relationships between them through access to the arts and the therapeutic benefits of theatrical engagement. Our goal is to be leaders in our industry and ultimately change the landscape of the existing theater community.
