As an agent who's an expert in this local area, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise about buying and selling real estate here. It's not the same everywhere, so you need someone you can trust for up-to-date local information. Below is my Real Estate Resume for you to review to get an idea of my background and experience in Real Estate:
I first obtained my Real Estate License in 1994 and worked for two years as a Mortgage Broker and learned the financial side of the business. I keep abreast of loan requirements and know what questions to ask due to my prior experience as a lender to help clients obtain financing and to protect Sellers by analyzing and probing the buyer's lender to make sure they're on track and not wasting the Seller's time with a lending scenario that's not going to work out.
From there I next spent 1996 and early 1997 working as a Transaction Coordinator for a Broker Associate at RE/MAX of Chico. It was here that I learned the "nuts and bolts" of Real Estate, including putting together the file paperwork, explaining contracts to clients, writing up addenda, dealing with and working with other Realtors, setting appointments and helping my employer close transactions. Things were slow in our local market at that time so my employer had to lay me off. I took the time, some family money had come available, to build a house for my wife and I on a vacant lot I had purchased in South Chico a few years earlier. I have a strong background in Construction working in my late teens and early 20's as a skilled laborer in many trades and in property management. I picked up a lot of knowledge during this part of my life which has been very helpful in my Real Estate career as I am able to advise clients on the condition of properties with confidence having helped build many homes and income properties from the ground up as well as participating in many remodeling projects.
In July of 1999 I jumped back into full time Real Estate Sales with a local discount broker called For Sale by Owner Realty. Over the next few years I refined my knowledge base, built up a clientele, and in 2003 became a part owner of the corporation. In 2006 I became the Broker Designee in charge of file review, trouble shooting escrow problems for the agents, dealing with other offices in a dispute, approving new listings, and being the "front man" for the office at the request of my partners.
In 2007 we sold the business to the local Prudential California Realty Franchise where I went back to being a full time Realtor and continued to build on what had come before in terms of knowledge, client base and experience. I look forward to providing you with exceptional service long after the sale is over.
