福岡市城南区の空手道場／実戦空手界の名門・白蓮会館の福岡県道場です。国際空手拳法連盟 白蓮会館は、関西を中心に活動を展開している団体で、実戦カラテ界有数の流派として広く認められています。
白蓮会館は日本少林寺拳法を源流に、杉原正康館長によって1984年に設立されました。
以来、積極的に極真会館、正道会館をはじめとする他流派の大会に参戦し続け、輝かしい成績を収めてきました。
とりわけ、実戦カラテの元祖であり地上最強といわれる極真会館の大会では、圧倒的な選手層の差をその技術で凌駕し、毎年上位入賞を果たしていることで、
今や白蓮会館は「侵略者軍団」との異名で恐れられるところとなりました。
白蓮会館における普段の練習は、年齢、経験の有無、体格などにあわせて科学的、合理的な教育体系で行なわれています。
まず初級クラスでは基本が中心でミット、ディフェンスを徹底して行ない、スパーリングは原則的にしません。
やがて中級クラス以上になると徐々に基本の割合が少なくなり、心拍数を上げる稽古やスパーリングが増えてゆきます。このようなステップ指導で、安全に実戦的なカラテの技術を習得できるシステムが白蓮会館の大きな特徴だといえます。
それから白蓮会館の空手は、主に突き蹴りを中心とした剛法のほかに、関節の逆をとったり投げを打つなど、柔法と呼ばれる護身の技術も練習してゆきます。
ただ試合で勝つことだけでなく、武道を通じて自己を確立してゆくことが白蓮会館の目的です。
